To begin, compose a new email.
Note:   The following commands MUST be sent from the email address of an owner assigned to the list, only owners of lists can send commands via email.  All others will be rejected.

Leave the SUBJECT of your email blank and send the email to this address:

Note:  Outlook may warn you that you are leaving the subject blank, that's no problem and you may just continue.

ADDING SUBSCRIBERS

To add subscribers to your list, you can put the following command or several of these commands (one per line) in the email message body:

  • ADD with a notification sent: To add a subscriber to your mailing list and send that person a notice, use the following command:

ADD listname [email protected] firstname lastname

Example:  If your list is called [email protected] then the listname is concordlist
If you are unsure of the full name of the subscriber, use a * in place of firstname and lastname:

  ADD listname [email protected] *

Replace listname with the name of your list (without the @lists.concord.edu).
Example:  If your list is called [email protected] then the listname is concordlist
Replace
[email protected] with the full email address of the subscriber you want to add.

  • ADD without sending a notification: If you prefer not to notify the subscriber you are adding, use the following command:

QUIET ADD listname [email protected] firstname lastname

or

QUIET ADD listname [email protected] *

DELETING SUBSCRIBERS

To remove subscribers from your list, you can include the following command or several of these commands (one per line) in the email message body:

  • Deleting with a notification sent: To delete a subscriber from your mailing list and send that person a notice, send the following command:

  DELETE listname [email protected]

Replace listname with the name of your list (without the @lists.concord.edu).
Example:  If your list is called [email protected] then the listname is concordlist
Replace
[email protected] with the full email address of the subscriber you want to remove.
If you are unsure of a subscriber's exact address, see below for the REVIEW command to get a list of the subscribers on your list.

  • Deleting without sending a notification: If you prefer not to notify the subscriber, use the following command:

  QUIET DELETE listname [email protected]

When ready, send the email, your email software may warn you the subject is blank, just click continue.  The listserv will process your commands and return an email stating if they were successfully added or deleted from your list.  If any errors were encountered they will be shown.

REVIEWING SUBSCRIBERS  (requesting a list)

To receive a list of the subscribers currently on your list, use the following command in your email
(address it to [email protected] as mentioned above):

  REVIEW listname

Replace listname with the name of your list (without the @lists.concord.edu).
Example:  If your list is called [email protected] then the listname is concordlist

The return email will take a minute or two and may be sent in several messages, this is normal.
