Course Copy
The Blackboard course copy process allows faculty to copy content from one course to another. It is typically used at the start of a new semester to prepare the upcoming course. To copy course content, follow these instructions. For directions with included screenshots, visit the Blackboard Ultra to Ultra Course Copy instructions. Visit Blackboard Ultra Course Copy recording to view the tutorial.
- From your “Courses” page in Blackboard, locate and open the course you’d like to copy the content into.
- Select the three action dots/ellipses on the righthand, middle quadrant of the main content page.
- Select “Copy Items.”
- Locate the course that you’ll be copying content out of, either by toggling or searching by name or ID.
- Check the course icon to select to copy the whole course. Instructors also have the option to copy sections of the course, if desired, by toggling into the course. However, it’s recommended to copy the whole course in one step.
- Select to “Start Copy” at the bottom right of the screen.
- The copy process generally takes 2-4 minutes, but may take longer. Once the content is copied, select the three actions dots/ellipses on the right of the course's main content page and open "Course Tasks and Logs" for a summary of the copy.
- Update content to finish preparing the course for the new semester.
